Technical Skills

I'm proficient in R and data anlytics, as proven in my research work. I've also been an instructor at the IDTech summar camp, where I taught classes to middle and high schoolers on several different computer science topics, such as python, javaScript, game design, and machine learning. I've created my own machine learning models, for previous research as well as robotics. Finally, I'm a skilled technical writer, who has authored or co-authored several technical reports.

Legal Skills

My most useful legal skill is my ability to quickly read and understand complex legal documents. This includes patent documents, which my technical background helps me parse through. Additionally, I'm a skilled and practiced public speaker. Many of my activities, from mock trial and moot court to high school speech and debate, have honed my ability to convey complex ideas in persuasive terms. These activities have also aided in my understanding of court procedures.

On the intersection of technology and Law

There are several areas within this intersection that interest me. First of all, artificial intelligence has the capacity to greatly change the patent system. The discourse about artificial intelligence as a potential inventor of patents has already started, and courts have yet to reach a consensus. Additionally, technology is a useful tool for legal studied. Data science can lead to new legal relevations or new ways to explain legal theory, which is incredibly beneficial for our future. However, technology isn't just useful for legal academia. Technology, including AI, can also aid in lawyers' everyday work.
